Music Project

This project was helpful in learning the use of layers. A layer had to be created for every individual element that this photo contains, in order to give me the opportunity to arrange them in any way I wanted. I used many colors in this design. Some would agree that these colors clash, but because music is the inspiration for this project,  and many types of music clash, I thought that this was appropriate.

Sam without Legs

This assignment involved one of the most incredible tools in Photoshop. The lasso tool and the quick-select tool give you the opportunity to select specific parts of an image and delete them, with almost no trace if you do it correctly. I attempted to delete the bottom half of Sam's body. This worked relatively well, though the effect it left me with almost makes it seem like the bottom half of his body was torn away. To add to this effect, I painted claw marks with a brush.

Sunset

Our assignment was to desaturate a black and white photo, recoloring it with a tool called "history brush" to create an interesting effect. I chose a photo with lots of vibrant color, and this is where a sunset inspired me. I decided to recolor the most vibrant part of the photo, the bottom, and then gradually shift to black and white towards the top of the photo.
